February 2, 2023 - CHTM
The QU-REACH Program at the University of New Mexico is a ten-week summer undergraduate research program run by the Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM) and academic departments on UNM’s Main Albuquerque campus.
The first QU-REACH program was held in 2021 (UNM Newsroom article). So far 27 students have participated in QU-REACH from 4 schools (UNM, NMSU, NMT, CNM) and 10 majors (Physics, Astro, Chem, ChemE, MechE, CS, EE, CompE, NucE, Biochem).
The 3rd annual QU-REACH program will take place May 30 - August 4, 2023. Program Flyer.
Applications for Summer 2023 are due Friday, March 17, 2023. See the application info page for instructions.
Applications to the program are welcome from all undergraduate students currently attending any College or University in the state of New Mexico who are interested in Quantum Technology research. Participants will receive a stipend of $6,000 for the summer. A limited number of housing stipends for students attending schools outside of the Albuquerque metro area will be available. Students from historically-excluded groups in STEM (including women, Hispanic, American Indian, and Black students) and students who are the first generation in their families to attend college are strongly encouraged to apply.
